Inventor 2022 Send to Fusion
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.3 года назад
This is a video demo that shows how Send to Fusion can be used for an Inventor and Fusion 360 CAM workflow. We start with an Inventor model and push it to Fusion 360 for creating the CAM toolpaths. After the toolpaths are created, the Inventor model is updated and a new version is pushed to Fusion. The Fusion file then prompts for an update. The toolpaths can then be regenerated to reflect the ...

oh my smurfs! too esy and never thought of that, that is a big help bec my job requires lots of bendi ng and i had to figure out how long when flatten the pipe!
can you modify it after importing it ?
Hi, is there any possibility to add parameters from Excel and stop updating them (like turning off "Link to external file" in Solidworks equations)? I want to download data from xls only once and never update it again
How do i create a parameter with the units being "text"?
Extremely helpful. Thank you!
Great video, thanks (May be u can do a video about how to show pdf thumbnails to)
Thanks man
Hello, how can I suppress from excel??? Please
how to add inventor build option in excel
Thank you for this information!
Excellent!
When does it come for Inventor?
How do you deal with renaming a parameter? Currently, if you rename a parameter and save, Inventor leaves the old name parameter in the parameters list, (but highlighted yellow), and adds the newly renamed parameter in at the bottom of the parameters list. Is there any way to make Inventor just rename the existing parameter to the new one?
It is disarming how complicated inventor is. you can do the same thing in liteally 5 seconds and in a beteer way
please help me i am learning point cloud please provide RCP data
How to simulate this with the machine? Till today I didn't got a machine simulation video of additive manufacturing
Fusion 360 can simulate tool paths if the machine used is listed as Simulation Ready in the Machine Library. I just double-checked to see if any additive machines are flagged as simulation-ready. Currently, only subtractive machines are simulation-ready. You can use the Fusion 360 Machine Builder to define a new simulation-ready machine, but I don' think it supports additive at this time.
@@3DSteve52 yeah, I have tried to add my custom machine, in machine builder when I chose Additive manufacturing it doesn't give the options for machine kinematics. May be they will release in upcoming updates
Thanks! I didn't know you could move that around! I've had a lot of breaking when trying to fix things earlier in the document! This may help that!

Perfectly explained. Thank you very much!
Very elegant. Thank you.
Yes, very helpful. Thank you!
Hello. Inventor does not display any values or parameter names in the Parameters box. It shows the file after I link it but there is no dropdown showing any parameters from the excel spreadsheet.
If you have linked to the Excel file, you should see the line that shows the linked Excel file at the bottom of the Parameter dialog box. If you see the file without any parameters, you may have named the parameters using invalid characters. You can't use spaces, which is the most common invalid character. If that is not the case, check the Start Cell setting, to make sure you are starting in the first cell you want. If it sees a blank row, it stops reading values. I hope this helps.
@@3DSteve52 Thank you for the reply, the spaces were the problem.
where did you put that "stock location" properties in the model?
The Stock Location property is a Custom iProperty. If you go to the Custom tab of the iProperty editor, you can create custom properties on that file.
@@3DSteve52 i did that but it's not showing in the parts list in my drawing. do you have a video how to do that? Thank you
nevermind i got it figured. thank you so much for the video though. it's really helpful
@@air_wind_can_last I am glad you figured it out.
He forgot to tell us that. Too much time on styles and volt and didn't focus on the subject at hand, you have to go into ioroperties and add it in there.
update is not showing any changes
If you are not seeing any change to the model, you will want to make sure you have done a couple of things. First, make sure you save the Excel file. The system see the modified time stamp an recognizes a change to the file. Secondly, make sure that the parameters you linked into the model are used by the dimensions of a sketch or feature. Lastly, make sure you don't have a local update, lightning bolt icon, that needs to be carried out. Let me know if you still have an issue after verifying that you have taken care of the items I listed above. Thanks, Steve
@@3DSteve52many thanks for your response. yes i figured it out that I linked excel file with multiple worksheets and changed the values in wrong one.
@@abdulansari2007 I am glad that you figured it.
Explained very clearly
then tutorial is really well structure!I have a question as I'm using recap photo for my project. When I'm cleaning my models with brush/lasso tool and then isolated the area of interest (that I want to ease from my model), my edits will not save as soon i press another icon/tool (furthermore, when I save the new ''clean model'' as a new file, it will not safe my edits as well). Do you have any idea about why? I need to have an edit/clean model separated from the original model.
the question is :how can I save my clean model using brush/lasso tool when I exit the isolation mode?
@@riccardomazza1780 Thanks for watching my video. I am not sure I fully understand what you are asking, but it sounds like you are making edits that are not getting committed to the model. I haven't used these tools in a while, so I just looked back into them. There are buttons for Confirm or Discard the edits I made with a specific tool. Is it possible you are clicking on another command before committing the edits? It also sounds like you are trying to separate one project into two components. I don't see a way to save a specific region of the model as a separate file. If this is what you are trying to accomplish, I think you are going to have to have two project, one for each component, and remove all faces that are related to the other components. I hope this helps. If I misunderstood what you are trying to accomplish, please let me know, and I will do my best to answer your additional questions.
Thank you
Thanks, the insertion button was not very intuitive, I was struggling to get it to work without clicking that button.
So nice this videos sir
Hi. I've been trying to find a way to link an Excel file to an assembly (say assembly X) in a way that the parameters get inherited by any part or assembly created under Assembly X. It makes sense doesn't it? You want all your subassembly items to know what the 'assembly_base_width' is. It is quite annoying when you create a part under the assembly and try to use a parameter, just to find out that the parameter is not there, and you have to link the Excel file again. Any idea?
I think you would have two options. First, link the same parameter spreadsheet to each component in the design. Secondly, you could use iLogic to pass parameters from the assembly down into the subcomponents. This approach does require the subcomponent to have a parameter to receive the value. There is a way to export and import parameters using iLogic too. That might offer an interesting approach to generating the necessary parameter in the subcomponents. Then use iLogic to distribute the necessary parameters to the subcomponents. Hope this helps.
Hi how can you set the iPart "Pipe"'s name to just "Pipe". My iPart's member name always change so I cannot use the ChangeRow snippet because after each edit It always change.
If you slowly double-click on the pipe in the browser, it should let you rename the browser node. Once you have done that, it should remain static.
a great guide to calculate the total mass. you should also create your own name for the column, for example total mass
That column format (each parameter is its own Row is very strange and even Inventor iParts uses row format in Excel (each parameter is its own column). Does it only support this format?
great one
AMAZING! It is working with Inventor 2023! Do you know hot set this to run automaticly when saving? Thanks Mate!
In Inventor 2023, you have a few buttons at the bottom of the iLogic Rule Editor. If you just click Save, then close the editor, your rule will save but not run the rule automatically. If you hit Save and Run, then the rule will be saved and run. I hope this helps.

CAN YOU RENAME 1000 FILES AUTOMATICALLY, PLACING SEQUENTIAL CODE?
hy do you know why when i press "creat" i 've got a message who says that my file is not link to an autodesk cloud file even if the file that i chose is in the autodesk drive thanks
Thank you!
How do you add text into inventor? Thanks!
Are you looking to create a text parameter or insert text into a sketch so you can emboss it? If you are looking to engrave or emboss text, you should create a sketch and use the Text command to add your text. From there you can use the Emboss or Mark commands. If you are looking to add a text parameter, there is a Text Parameter type under the Numeric option at the bottom of the Parameter dialog box. I hope this helps.
@@steveolson8283 hi there, no no, I wanted to import a text parameter say: Type on A1 and on B2 I wanted it to say B So that in reference it would reference between two types of models like Plate type A and plate type B. Thanks you nevertheless
Would you by any chance know how to export break line dims onto excel through a sheet metal model or in sheet metal flat model mode? For example an L shape piece. At its flat state you can see the major bend line. That bend line to us like a referred to as a break line. It’s what is used to know how far inward a tool needs to be to bend bend the part properly. I just need the bend line dim exported in excel. I haven’t had much luck exporting a basic dim through flat model state or anything. I can only think of creating a drawing and applying a dim there and then making a table that I can extract but the drawing would just add more steps. Thanks for the reply!
@@LealLens If you got to the flat pattern, you should be able to create a sketch that represents the break line dimension you need. It will be a Driven dimension, that just means that Inventor will control its value. That parameter then can be written to Excel with a little bit of iLogic. I hope this helps, Steve
Thanks for this video, I am very happy because my doubt was solved.
does this have a library of items like I beams and square tubing as well as round tubing? I am looking for a program I can click on predefined materials IE. click on channel iron , select the dims and enter and I have a predrawn piece of metal..
Jim, for components like structural steel, Fusion 360 relies on a connection to McMaster-Carr. Under Insert, you should see a command to Insert McMaster-Carr component. I wasn't sure if they had structural steel profiles, but I just checked and found I-beams. Usually, you can click on a part that will let you download a CAD file. In this case, it didn't work. I tried it again with a bolt, which is what I usually do, and that worked. I am not sure why it didn't work with an I beam. You should be able to download it from the McMaster-Carr website and insert it. I can also tell you the Autodesk Inventor has Content Center libraries that contain many different structural steel shapes. It also has a function called Frame Generator that will allow you to create a skeleton of a frame/structure. Then you can place structural members from the Content Center on those lines/edges. There are even tools to create end treatments that create the right connections between frame members.
Thanks for creating quality content like this. I have a question, is it possible to digitize point cloud the same way like digitize raster image but with good accuracy like snap in the right corner of building and can I have a good result of distance measurement from it? Thank you very much 🙏
Great video! I know it's a little old now but I've just found it and it's helping me as I learn to use point clouds. One question, the point cloud tool bar is displayed when you have the point cloud selected but as soon as you start to draw lines it disappears. Do you know of a way to pin it so that it's easy to adjust the depth of a slice without losing your place in the point cloud? The project i'm working on is a tunnel with multiple sticky out bits that need to be drawn. As they're not at set intervals, but are at roughtly the same height, it would be great to keep the same view and move a slice slowly through the data, then be able to draw each bit as it appears.
The video is great!
thank you again -__-
good video
Hi, How to add custom parameter which will have incrementing number for copied parts. For an example my part 'tag id = 001'. If I copy and paste that part all the parameters should remain same while tag id should 002. Would this be possible?
Hello Your tutorial is very good. You could also create a sketch block library and do pretty much the same thing using the sweep command, right? Thanks a lot
Yes, you can accomplish the same result by sweeping a sketch block. When I made this video the option to create a solid sweep was new. This was my way of testing that function and I thought it was interesting enough to share through a RUclips video.
